Day forty nine (continued)
The campsite that we stayed at on the Zambian side of the border was memorable for having the coldest shower of the safari so far. It was freezing!
Day fifty
Today was a notable for the high degree of boredom. We were not actually looking to visit anywhere in particular in Zambia and were just cutting through it to get to our next destination of interest which was Victoria Falls on the border Zambia shared with Zimbabwe. Did you know that Zambia used to be Northern Rhodesia and Zimbabwe was called Southern Rhodesia? A bit of useless information for you. The roads were the worst on the entire trip.
We drove all day until we got to Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia. The capital was pretty modern and prosperous looking compared to the rest of the country that we had seen.
The campsite we stayed at was pretty good. The bar had a pool table which was a bonus.
Day fifty one
It was a cold start to the day and we drove through to the Zimbabwe border, which is the mighty Zambesi river. I have never seen a river that is so wide. Click here for Zimbabwe 1.
